Virginia songwriter and producer Landon Hicks, known for his stage name, GRIFYN, is an aspiring musician with an emphasis on persuasive sound. He released his debut album titled “Euphoria” in July 2021. The album conveyed ambient electronic music, with an infectious beat or groove throughout each single or song. The album was different and quite compelling. It consisted of 9 songs that incorporated a range of styles, including funk, dub, soul, R&B, and even house. With such versatility and admiration, it is no wonder that GRIFYN has garnered 20k monthly listeners and counting throughout Spotify alone!
Not less than a month later did GRIFYN release his follow-up album titled “ETERNAL MIX” in August 2021. The album once again captured the essence of his initial release, giving listeners a psychedelic and mainstream feel. Listeners could expect different ranges in terms of the theme or overall tone of both albums.
GRIFYN offers aural atmospherics that are influenced by a collage of different sounds ranging from pianos, saxophones, trumpets, flutes, and different unconventional instruments. It is impressive to hear such different moulds of music infused through an array of different sounds or feelings.
GRIFYN has certainly left quite the impression with his two releases in such a timely manner as well. It would be interesting to see what he plans to release or so next. Nevertheless, we will certainly keep our ears open and expect the unexpected!
