Australian Hip-hop artist W7lf (pronounced Wolf), has been making quite a headline recently with a collage of music and freestyle videos throughout social media and streaming platforms. The young Libyan-Australian recording artist had recently released a new single titled “Nana’s Song”. We hear both a dynamic tone complemented by heavy wordplay/lyricism through personal reflection and storytelling. We see somewhat of an intersection of intimate and critical delivery. W7lf connects words fluently while showcasing quality without the need to emphasize or focus on quantity. W7lf had also previously released his debut album titled “Along Came a W_lf” in November 2020. The album features 8 astonishing songs that will leave listeners quite impressed and interested. We see the versatile sound and hunger from W7lf that is played out like no other. The album elaborates heavily on lyricism that is phenomenal and certainly mixes quite well with the diverse and various sounds. The metaphors are ear-catching and play on we’ll with the young rapper’s personal experiences and struggles of war. He makes clever references and homage to classic or veteran Hip-Hop artists. It is great to see wordplay matched with metaphors under a unique style and voice. The flow is catchy and unique. W7lf seems to be quite comfortable and familiar with storytelling, as well as sharing his thoughts through a song. We see a deep connection from his old roots and a look back at his upbringing. He is one of a handful of Australian artists now making moves in the underground hip-hop scene. It’s great we see artists coming out of sections and inspiring others to grow and do the most for the better. We loved the personal reflection from W7lf and his confidence to speak on his subject matter. He is representing himself not just as an artist but as a person who expresses himself with the utmost. We applaud that very much. It’s great to see that raw emotion embodied through his catalogue. We respect the grind and hope you follow the young king as he makes moves for the better.
