Singing in the college halls caught the attention of a rap group who recognized her exceptional talent. They invited her to record the hook for their song, which eventually aired on K104 Dallas. This opportunity opened doors for Apryl to collaborate with other rap groups, performing as an opening act for prominent artists like Mary J. Blige in shows across the Midwest.
The Path to Discovering the Music Business
As Apryl’s passion for music evolved, so did her curiosity about the music industry. Eager to learn the ins and outs of the record business, she pursued internships with major labels such as BMG and Jive. Her dedication to understanding the business side of music was fueled by her desire to continue writing and recording her own music.

Although the song didn’t make it onto the album, it ignited a newfound love for songwriting and recording.
